Experiential family travel education through service learning, sustainable development, and cross-cultural community living in rural Cambodia.
Travel deeper. Connect authentically. Grow together.
At The Red Road Foundation in rural Cambodia, we offer a worldschooling experience rooted in experiential learning, sustainability, and cross-cultural connection. This isn’t just a destination—it’s a community where families learn by living, doing, and contributing together.
Step outside the traditional classroom and into a rural Khmer community. This is a space designed for meaningful immersion, where:
Learning is situational: Education happens through real-world problem-solving.
Passion-led growth: Children are encouraged to follow their natural interests.
Purposeful travel: Families bond through shared experiences and community impact.
Our project serves as a physical blueprint for a better future. You will live and learn among:
The Earthship: Our free education center, hand-built from recycled and natural materials.
Eco-Infrastructure: A chemical-free eco-pool and a thriving permaculture farm.
Upcycling Initiatives: Creative workshops turning glass bottles into art and bamboo into straws.
Natural Wellness: On-site creation of natural health and skincare products.
Families don’t just watch; they participate. Your stay includes:
Cultural Exchange: Tutoring, sports, and creative arts alongside local Khmer students.
Eco-Building: Direct involvement in ongoing natural building and sustainability projects.
Regenerative Farming: Hands-on experience with permaculture and organic gardening.
Countrywide Adventure: Field trips through the stunning Cambodian countryside.
This experience is crafted to foster deep personal development:
For Children:
Confidence: Built through real contribution and responsibility.
Leadership: Developed through teamwork and cross-cultural communication.
Global Awareness: Cultivating empathy and a profound understanding of the world.
For Parents:
Connection: Strengthening family bonds through shared purpose.
Alternative Perspective: First-hand insight into experiential and “unschooling” models.
Heart-Centered Community: Living among like-minded families and locals.
Experience a grounded, “homestay-style” life in a peaceful rural setting:
Living Space: Choose between private bedrooms or a large shared dorm for a community feel.
Environment: Simple, comfortable, and deeply connected to nature.
Recommended Stay: 2 to 4 weeks to allow for true integration and relationship building.
This program is specifically designed for:
Worldschooling families.
Families seeking alternative or experiential education.
Parents who value purpose-driven travel and sustainability.
Come Learn, Grow, and Experience Together. If you are looking for a transformation rather than just a trip, your journey begins here.
